Qatar Airways launched a commercial air connection between the cities of Luanda (Angola) and Doha (Qatar). The launch took place last Monday with an inaugural flight of Qatar Airways.
The company further said schedules in this initial stage will be only one weekly flight. The new route will have flights on Mondays.
The first flight landed in Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport with 32 people on board.
The chairman of the Executive Commission of the Airports Management Society (SGA), Nataniel Domingos, recognized the importance of such entry into the Angolan market of Qatar Airways during the inaugural flight reception ceremony.
Qatar Airways flies to 151 destinations around the world. Luanda is now Qatar Airways’ 21st destination in Africa.
