China is interested in expanding business in Angola’s industry, agriculture, and fishing. China’s Ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, was quoted by local media on Thursday. The investment will help grow Angola’s foreign investments.
Ambassador Tao spoke during a meeting with Josefina Pitra Diakite. Josefina is the chairwoman of the Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, International Cooperation, and Angolan Communities Abroad.
The Ambassador also said that economic and commercial cooperation in investments will remain strong and will promote the development of friendly relations and strategic partnership with Angola.
The Chinese investment would create new jobs in Angola. It will also increase exports to the Chinese market whose consumer demand is high.
The Chinese Ambassador also praised the ongoing reforms in Angola in order to improve the business environment and ensure conditions for entrepreneurs.
The investment will also come in handy for Angola whose main export commodity, Oil, faces a downward trail. The effects of Corona-Virus have hit Angola’s oil industry with full force as some major investors started pulling out.
