Narok County, Kenya governor Samuel Ole Tunai was among four passengers on board the chopper that crashed some 150 kilometers north of the capital, Nairobi.
The passengers have been rushed to a medical facility within the county for medical assessment.
Tunai was returning home from a burial when the crash occurred.
The cause of the crash is yet to be established.
Witnesses said the pilot of the chopper tried to take off several times but was unable to.
“After taking off for the fifth time, it crash landed after a 100m distance,” the witness said.
Area MCA Moses Ole Samante said the governor is out of danger and that people should not worry.
